I have the Bose QC2's that I bought for listening to MP3 or watching movies when I'm flying. I prefer the around-the-ear style phones and love them. I bought some cheap JVC noise cancelling ones and didn't really think they cancelled much noise so I bought the Bose. That's about the only time I ever wear headphones, though. Sadly I don't have much time to just sit around an listen to tunes.
Damn kids.
I'm far from an audiophile, in fact the noise cancelling aspect was the main factor for the purchase, and I know some folks think the Bose are overpriced but I think they sound great.
