Ok, so then it's really just the O-rings that need attention? I've often read about replacing the fuel lines, but is it generally the O-rings that are air leak culprits? I certainly don't mind the idea of buying new fuel lines, but not if it's unnecessary.

From what other people are saying it sounds like the o-rings are the culprits. Since my fuel lines seems to be kind of hard (all originals) plus they don't cost that much so they're getting done on my car.
Also, found this post. Scroll halfway down the first page and Rick Miley posted just about everything you'll need w/ MB parts #'s. It's for a 99 E300 and has gaskets as well.
