Hi Capt. Kirk,3M weatherstrip adhesive would be the stuff to use.Just make sure you clean out the remnants of the old stuff.My car has a similar problem but it depends which way the wind is blowing or if I pass a large truck.A PO built up a layer of silicone where it had broken before.Good luck
