Well - the wiring harness is "old"

There is no tag on the cable near the control box - thanks for the suggestion.

Up by the thermostat - the mechanic showed me some broken wire shields. Yep needs replaced.

Will replace myself (or try to) and will post pictures - this will be months in the execution - weekends are mostly booked with family outings.
