The cost of the harness depends on the model. Mine was listed at 890. Not having the money at the time, I rebuilt mine. Took three plus days to unwrap, build, test, and reinstall.

The actual install was fairly straightforward and easy. If you purchased a harness and removed / replaced at the same time, it would probably take 2-3 hours. Key is to start at the ECM plug by the battery and work to the ends. Simply unplug one connection, move out of the way, reinstall portion of the new harness and replug new connection all the time working to the various loose ends last. Make sure the attery is disconnected first.

Take lots of BEFORE pictures incase you get interrupted and forget what is where.

As to the ETA, it is plagued by the same wiring problems. You can either by a rebuilt/new, send yours out for rebuilding (requires car to be idle for several days), or rebuild the short harness yourself. There is a DIY article on it somewhere in the forums. In addition, you can order the ETA pigtail from MB for roughly $20. Its an overseas order so it takes some shipping time.
