As far as I know, there isn't any feature like that on your MB. It sounds like you're experiencing a harsh, or premature downshift. Most of the 722.9 transmission issues have been sorted out, but there's still a few here and there. You're dealer shouldn't be surprised when you ask them about it. They'll probably update the software in the transmission and/or engine control units.
