What drives the price of Diesel, seriously--last year it was cheaper than Gas..

Remember last year? Diesel was $2.75 a gallon? Gas was at $2.98? People were running out like crazy to buy Diesel cars...everyone was salivating at our Diesel's

Now I may be really wrong, but to me Diesel comes from the same stuff hat Gas does. I think something changes in the cracking process, but when they invented Google I saved my mind for remembering more important things like all the new phone #'s you have to learn when you move

So I am sure I could Google this. But I would like to get some Dieselhead input? What is driving the price of Diesel this year? I though the Home Heating Oil season, when it wound down, would drive the price down..
