Best policy is always stick with the truth.

If she doesn't like that or gets mad at you for something innocent, then she has issues.

Now on the other hand if you told her you were going to take the car out for a test-drive and stopped at the bar for a couple hours then you have the issue.

Most often it is a cycle of the man lying because he doesn't want to get yelled at and the woman yelling at him because she wants to keep taps on him (needy). Both are at fault. That is why the stone-cold truth is always the best policy. If you can find someone you can tell the stone cold truth to and they to you then you have found the right one.
