Having no children of my own, I feel the best gift I ever got was quite recent when my step daughter said to her mom, "I love him more than my own dad". There's no way to respond to that, but I do like to tell about it. The odd part is, I did nothing special to earn those words, except to be myself, show love and kindness.

Every day is a new day and I suspect this father's day will be better than the last.
