Rather's folly wasn't in the same class as this. Plenty of evidence to indicate that Bush got special treatment in the guard. The Bush-o-mon himself even said that he "worked it out with the Guard" to leave early to attend Harvard. Well, plenty of Guardsmen in Iraq have done the same thing, haven't they?

Plenty of conservatives are not dummies, I'm happy to confirm (I'm so generous). Drudge, McCain, and Palin are not among this group. Ditto for the campaign staffers that didn't stop M and P from stepping in this obviously contrived bit of slime.
