Lightbulb While We're At It: What Would You Do Too

1983 300D 143,xxx miles

I'm scheduled to get in the garage with my friend/mechanic on Monday, Nov. 24th. We're replacing the fan clutch, water pump, and the lower oil cooler hose. My question to all of you experts out there is this: what else should I just tack on to the job while we have the fan off and everything wide open. Is there anything I should just do now that I'm going to end up having to do in the near future anyway, or are there things that are more than likely brittle and breaking that should be checked or replaced? What would you do?
