The PS belt cut a nice notch in my top oil cooler hose last night. Sprays oil all over the place, probably loosing a quart every couple minutes. I filled her up in the KMart parking lot and limped across the street to a chevy dealership. This morning their service guy didn't want to touch it.

I've seen a lot of varying opinions on the difficulty of repair.

Can I feasibly replace the top hose only in the parking lot?
Could a redneck fix of gasket material and hose clamps let me limp the 15 miles back home?

Thanks for any advice. I'm sure the dealership is going to get irritated if I leave it on the lot too long.
Im guessing no AAA? Id say its worth the $50-$75 to have it towed home. see if the dealer can help you out finding a cheap local. if you rig it and it fials, you will pump all of your oil out in a matter of seconds.
