I bot the 1986 300 E that was written up in the Aug 17 1987 Autoweek article from a friend 2 years ago. It had 69K on it... now has 80K. It continues to be servived by the orginal tuner, Brian Murphy of Willow Automotive in Chicago, IL. Fortunately for me, I have little reason to "visit" with Brian as the car has been very reliable. I drive it May thru November and really enjoy it. It's quite fun .... and quick. I am considering rebuilding the turbos this year, more as a precaution than out of necessity.
