Err. When I pulled mine apart for the first time, there was a crush washer on the top and bottom of the return line fitting. It needs two.

Did you get the old one off of the pan? They like to stick there and pretend to be part of the pan, but they are not.

Assuming you removed both of the old washers the first time and it still leaked, did it leak before you touched it, and are you certain it's not leaking between the pan and the threaded insert that is brazed to the pan? Where was the sealant applied?

My car leaked a little when I got it, but began leaking hardcore after I fought to get the drain and return line removed - Came to discover that the brazed joint cracked when I pulled it apart.
