The HomeLink on my 07 and 01 work just fine, as did the HomeLink on a 99 ML I formerly owned.

Even though the gate was a simple DIP switch configuration, I had to aim the gate remote to the HomeLink module to activate.

First time coding is fun stuff...climb ladder, puch button on garage, descend ladder push button on mirror, get out of vehicle, look at LED on garage unit, etc...
