I have a 93 300sd with 215,000 miles on the odometer.I recently took a trip,about 1900 miles,the car used 10qts of oil.Is it possible that the oil return line from the turbo to the oil pan is restricted causing the turbo to blow oil into the intake?I recently had the connecting pipe from the turbo to the intake off and there was an oily build-up inside it and the intake.I have not noticed an abnormal amount of smoke out the tailpipe and there are no major leaks under the hood or the car.The PO said he had a rebuilt turbo installed prior to selling the car,it looks more like used to me.Also is it possible to replace the rings without removing the engine from the car?Thought about rings,rod bearings,and valve seals,but don't want to pull the engine if we can get around it.
