well im about to go out of town til monday night and im taking the diesel as usual, i am planning on recharging the ac when i get back with some r12, however i dont even know if the system is even in proper working order...

does the ac compressor only kick in when there is freon in the lines? and my climate control switches are goofy so i dunno if it will work with the switches the way they are.. i cant seem to get the center 2 vents to blow air out either

and does the aux fan only turn on when the ac compressor kicks in? because my aux fan has never gone on before.

i have an evacuator pump to evacuate the system and also see if it holds a decent pressure so i can tell if there are leaks in the system
