I still think it is likely you are getting too much fuel, which is why it will run a with a plug out....
I still think you should try introducing a vacuum leak by disconnecting a hose or two.... See if you can make it run my manually leaning it out this way.
If so, it could be leaky injectors, or somebody screwed up adjustments trying to get it run before you got it.
