Anyways the pic of the cable you sent me Dave, is the same one I found pinched underneath the power steering...so you maybe on to something there..I didn't realize what that was..where is a good place to get MB parts online?
Wood floors uh....Nail down, glue down, floating, or laminate?

If you get a chance, pull the CPS connector off at the Ignition Control Module and check the resistance of the CPS cable. Mine is 851 ohms cold and 924 ohms at operating temperature. Also check the ac output while someone cranks the engine...should be just under 1v ac.
