My 98 E320 just turned 164K miles. Other than the harmonic balancer, spring perches, engine mounts, trans o-ring I have had good luck with it. If the trans fluid is original I would pass on the car and pay extra to get one with lower miles. I have also put in Mobil 1 0W-40 synthetic oil and changed my trans fluid & filter long before Mercedes started to recommend it.
