You tell a mechanic your car will not turn over and he is getting out the jumper cables b/c the suspect is a dead battery...but if you tell him it turns over but won't start/run, he is asking if you ran out of gas......

Terminology that helps in postings...thats all.
And I also think the first suspect is fuel delivery, so a FP test will tell what's up on that. Fuel flow from the fiter would be my first suspect too.
