When my TE 4matic was nearing 5years old, around 100,000miles I took it into the dealer (regular service) and asked that all fluids be changed while it was in, I was told that there is no service interval for the hydraulic fluid. I've got to figure that 100k miles is time for a change, good round number. Some wagons change their own fluid.

Which 300TD do you have? A 123 or 124?

Could also be the spheres / accumulators are bad.
