The simple fact is that you have a third-party application that facilitates your wireless access... namely, your "Dell Wireless Utility". So you need to use that to configure your wireless settings, not Windows.
The rest is simple.
My wife and I have work laptops that use Funk Software's Odyssey wireless utility. I had to configure both laptops to recognize my Verizon home setup using the Odyssey configuration setup.
