The secondary boxs (the one in our bedroom) cannot pause FF or reverse live TV. They can view recorded shows from the main box and on recorded shows is can pause, FF and review but not on live (that's the only beef I have with U-verse. I was told they are working on a software/hardware fix but no ETA.

We've had it for 2 years now and are more pleased with it than displeased. HD quality is good and we do have the internet with it. The cable and internet run through the same router, which is wifi capable. You have one main box which has all of the features and any number of secondary boxes which has most but not all (like David was saying, currently no pause, stop, FF or RR).
Every few months they seem to update the system to take care of the bugs. We did run into issues early on such as a box freezing or losing the sound feed and the recourse was to do the alternative of a Ctrl-Alt-Del (they are just little computers afterall), but those have been resolved through software updates that are done automatically by AT&T. We do run into situations where there are too many shows being recorded that other boxes get interrupted. Initially you could only watch recorded shows on the other boxes, now you can erase them after watching them (not a big deal but more convenient).
