steve, worst case scenario, use a level to make sure the guide is completely vertical, then mark a spot on the sheet metal from inside the door through the hole in the guide rod, and drill a hole in the sheet metal, then put a nut and bolt through it. or just weld it once it's vertical. weird problem though. i thought they were welded on the w123 chassis, and bolted on on the w116--could be wrong though
