As for manuals, the only one worth its salt is the factory publication. It's not designed to be read cover to cover, but as 1,000 separate repair procedures. One of which is replacing the lock cylinder.

For your 250S, the manual to look for is the "Passenger Cars Starting Model Year 1959...". Buy a paperback copy, NOT one of the loose-leafs if you want the most uptodate and complete book you can get.

The paperback can be found on ebay for anything from 15-40$.

BTW, the 1 volume loose-leaf is missing a few sections, none of which impact the owner of a 250S. The 3 volume loose-leaf, if its not up to revision 40 is way out of date (the set on ebay right now is only upto revision 33).
