'95 E300Ds are rare enough on the street and I've never seen one in a junkyard. And there's no guarantee a junkyard valve wouldn't leak too. But I agree with the concept, one should at least look around before spending that kinda money. Maybe someone on the forum is sitting on a spare.
One of the reasons for the price is that the '95 OM606NA engine is a one-hit wonder. The '96 and later cars that use the OM606 do not have that valve; Mercedes went back to the plain bolt.
