Am helping a friend fix his W124 car. The now crumped nose has the star on the hood rather than the grill.

Never saw that before.

Can a hood w/o star be substituted (since that's what I've found for him)?

As the car still has to be pulled back into the right shape, are the any other things that make this hood unique besides the grill being missing a star?
