My first ride was in a W124...may have been a 300E, I don't remember for sure. Belonged to one of my high school math teachers; she took me to a fast-food place and back to get lunch for a group of kids who hung out in the room during lunch... I think this was in '97.
My second ride was in a '81 W126 300SD (was also my first time driving one) that belonged to a guy I knew in high school. This was in '98, and lasted maybe 15 minutes.
My third time in a Benz was last Friday, being picked up at DFW by the guy who I bought my 300D from, in his '85 300SD...since then, I've been spending over 50% of my time in a Benz, mainly doing 75 (until I got to the CA border and they dropped the speed limit to 70
)
First and second time, I knew it was something special (the SD mainly 'cause I'm a diesel-head and it was the only diesel-powered car I'd seen to date)..now I know I was right before.
And my mom complains about my car having over 200K miles on it...it's just barely getting broken in!
