My Dad had a 1959 190 as long as I can remember (he has photos of me next to it as a toddler).
He sold it 14 years later and found a '71 280SE. He still has that one.
I guess the attraction to MBs was a subliminal one. I never deliberately purchased any of mine...my wife and I couldn't find the Toyota dealership so we stopped at the MB dealer to look at the neat cars "we couldn't possibly afford"...
