With an assistant pressing down on the pedal, did you find that you could still add more throttle with the broken mount?

On my car I had my brother press down on the pedal and I checked the linkages. I couldn't get any more movement out of them if I pulled on it. I'm assuming that this is the way to check if the mount is bad.
