At that time I just assumed that they were early versions, but I put them on my 84 Euro 240D because I had them and they were better than the sealed beams. It could be that they were the round ones because they were on a stripped down model.

Actually they make GREAT light!

I wish someone would buy out my three 123 cars. They are all parts cars at this point.

BTW, if I were on a budget and needed improved lighting on a US 123 car, I would go get some high beam sealed beams that were used for a four round sealed beam system in most cars from 1958 on into the seventies. These are 7" Diameter I think, but they will fit right in place of the fog lights in a 123 system. Then use a relay to energize them at high beam. Get a pair that are halogen. Aim them way down the road and aim your regular lights at normal level. This would be a GREAT poor boys driving light system.
