This is a public museum.
That means it's run by civil servants that you can't fire unless you catch them stealing.
There's no accountability or consequences if you screw up.
Take it from me, the US gov't is just as bad.
The only good news: in the US when you get to the "can't fire" status, at least half the time, that means you are dealing with people who are not afraid of their jobs to tell you when things are screwed up, because they can't be fired like in a corporation, where everyone kisses a$$ once they get beyond a certain grade.
I have watched my two bosses do that. One's a GS14 and the other's a GS15, and they tell it like it is. And you can disagree with them, as long as you are not personally insulting and as long as you have some logic to your argument.
The problem is things like the theft: a bunch of security guards with the smarts of a rent-a-cop and "administrators" who can't do anything else.
Speaking of toilets, maybe this will cause the French to "flush their system" a little...
