During the cold war years the Bulgarian quality of AK 47 was rated higher than the Russians. Till 1994 they where making more AK's than anybody else in the world. They used to have a state owned company called Kintex that the only purpose was trading in weapons
The whole Soviet block army was sorted with Bulgarian AK's.
