good fix! I'd cut it out, and slather some plastic epoxy on the fitting first, THEN put new shrink wrap on there for strength!
Yup, it seals up tight. I feared that it wouldn't shrink small enough to grab the tubing, but that wasn't a problem. It is actually far stronger than the fitting itself and could be considered a permanent repair.
I was also afraid that it would tear while heating where I had to punch the hole for the nipple that sticks out the side, but it wasn't a problem, either.
