Fix One Break Another

Got the radiator, 606 fan and clutch installed in the 300D. Been driving it around evaluating and it was clear that it was very down on power. I decided to check out the ALDA plumbing and discovered it was well plugged. The rubber tubing was rotten, as well. It was more like chewing gum than rubber. So, I cleaned the intake orifice and began replacing tubing and in doing so, absent-mindedly rested my arm on the vacuum line to the brake servo. One end of the check valve device (fitted about midway between the vacuum pump and the servo) snapped off.
So, I've just serviced my ALDA fittings and want to see if performance improved, but have wrecked the vacuum line to my brakes so I can't drive it. What to do?
Heavy wall shrink tubing to the rescue!

All better, at least for now.
The drive with the cleaned ALDA plumbing was vastly improved (as in it will modestly accelerate on a visible incline and can sort of get out of its own way the rest of the time) so I am happy until I have the emission testing done.

I've learned to always take the vacuum hose off when working around in there. I've broken enough of those vacuum lines already.

is that the style tubing that has goo in it to waterproof seal the "connection"? I've used "plastic" epoxy successfully on those.
I always unhook the Vacuum lines, and the small vent line on the radiator whenever I have to work in those areas... SUCH A BUMMER!
good fix! I'd cut it out, and slather some plastic epoxy on the fitting first, THEN put new shrink wrap on there for strength!

Yup, it seals up tight. I feared that it wouldn't shrink small enough to grab the tubing, but that wasn't a problem. It is actually far stronger than the fitting itself and could be considered a permanent repair.
I was also afraid that it would tear while heating where I had to punch the hole for the nipple that sticks out the side, but it wasn't a problem, either.
