Get a copy of it. Blaming the problem on U.S. government standards is silly given the number of U.S. sold cars that did not have the problem. The story I find most plausible, heard from a MBUSA rep, is simply that the Swedish harness supplier sold them a bill of goods. Even other German manufactured cars did not suffer the problem.
