To be clear about the nut holding the ALDA, when looking down from the top of the engine onto the ALDA, the nut needs to be turned CW to loosen the ALDA. The nut belongs to the IP and stays on the IP when the ALDA is freed. The nut will sit there and rattle around with the ALDA off, but no matter.

Take the ALDA off to get your power back.
