Forgive me, I do not intend this to be a oil filter war thread.

I would like to know what is the best oil filter that I can buy locally at either autozone, advance auto, oreilly's, carquest, or napa.

I've searched this forum and have come to the conclusion that Purolator, STP, and Fram are to be avoided? Looks like my options may be Napa Gold and Wix?

I have no idea what filters are available at Carquest. Their website stinks and I have not called them.

I ordered a Mann filter for my last oil change but would prefer not to order online this time.

Is ordering online really the only wise decision?
