Fram oil filters have a bad reputation generally speaking due to their use of economy construction materials in their US made spin-on filters. I am not sure that that means anything when it comes to the imported 617 diesel filter element. The Fram CH2930 filters that I have encountered were all made in Turkey and appeared to be of excellent quality. I would avoid anything made in India, regardless of the name on the box.
