On my car you also need to remove the screws that hold the seat belt guide bit that runs along the side of the front seats. You can then lift the rear part of the centre console up (so the bit between the front seats) and as long as you've got the 2 screws out of the foot wells you should be able to feel if you've missed something else!

If you're not clear about my pocket springs contribution I've got a whole load of photos that I can add to the thread to make it clearer - I haven't spent too much time on that one - sorry.
