I used this tool last week on my W123 PS power steering pump pulley and it worked fine.

I set it up, got it tight, and whacked on the center bolt with a hammer, I would say, harder than tapping, but not really hammering. You know, whacking. The technical term. After 500 whacks, the pulley popped off. No damage to tool at all. Pulley installed on new PS pump no problem and works fine.
