I foresee more accidents at intersection where none really occurred. Bank on it! The elderly, law-abiding drivers begin slamming on their brakes to avoid running the red. The following-too-closely drivers pile into the slamming-on-brakes cars.

I went to the grocery store a few nights ago and I didn't have to turn at a light but when I walked out of the store I kept seeing bright flashes from the intersection.
Sure enough, damn red light cameras in action. $150 fine each flash. I see the city and county's revenues going up

Give 'em a few months, they'll be removed because they are a losing proposition for your city/county. Some are too dense to not learn from the cities in other parts of the country that learned the hard way they were a financial net loss.
Until then, start slamming on your brakes as I do....
