There is more than one rebuild kit on the eechhBay.
I used 'Ron's Turbo Shop' out of Utah.
You send him your shaft and blades with the new nut and thrust bearing, and he balances it for you after a thorough cleaning / inspection.
It is really the only reasonable way to 'skimp' on a turbo rebuild. If you do not get a new thrust bearing and balancing, the longevity of the new bearings is left to chance.
However, if you open the turbo and the shaft has noticeable wear on it, you are better off with a good, used turbo that has a tight shaft.
