injection pump

bob, good idea, will do,just thought that others could have run into the same problem and as i couldnt find anything in the forum post just thought it would be a decent subject.
the origional gasket is sorta on the same design as the valve cover gaskets,as the tightening bolts are designed to bottom out when the gasket is in compression enough to seal. the origional ip formed gasket has at mininum 2 times the sealing surface as the replacement(square o ring 1/8 in square).i can get the replacement gasket to seal without the engine running by using permatex black form a gasket, waited 24 hours for complete cure ,followed all directions on the form a gasket .this ip gets full oil pressure from the oil gally and drains back to the main oil sump(pan).just have to conclude that the gasket dont seal on its own, form a gasket does seal it but as soon as the oil pressure hits, the form a gasket gets distorted and allows the motor oil to pass. last time i tried i let it set over night and it never leaked a drop, started it up and raised the lift and the seeping started.(3-4 minute max).
