Hi pawoSD, I wonder if you can help me. My 1987 W124 was broken into and the driver side window glass was smashed. I got a replacement driver window glass from the junk yard. I got the door trim off of the door, and removed the old "little metal clamp" from the motor assembly, it still the broken glass stuck to it and I almost lost my finger Anyway, now I don't know what to do, how do I get the replacement glass back inside the door? The replacement glass came with the metal clamp, and yes the glass sits inside that rubber gasket that you mentioned. Do I pull the glass out? I tried lightly but it won't budge. Or should I remove the door seal and slide it down? any idea? Thanks in advance.
