put this one to bed

ok forum, the ip housing was indeed cracked, welded up the crack, installed the mb square gasket, test drove and no leaks.
i do suggest that the crack in the housing was a direct result of the ip rear brace to block not holding(one bolt missing and one left hanging ).
i did get quite a scare because the ip center splined shaft was stuck into the drive gear spline and had to be pried out, spline of ip had been damaged from working on the vibrating ip pump. so if this does happen,i solved by filing the 32 splines with a 3 sided file till i could feel the drive gear just start on,then i covered both splines with 600 grit valve grinding compound and forced with hammer. kept that up for 2 complete revolutions(64 on 64 off),then i could insert the ip spline into the drive gear just with hand pressure. hope this will help some one.(new ip is about 4000.00)
