I see it all the time in my city, the Mayor says we need to cut funding for the schools. Which really isn't a cut, its an increase but a cut in the increase if you follow.
So instead of getting a 3% increase for the year they get say a 1.5%.
Now the board of ed gears are turning they go out to the parents, threaten to lay off teachers, close schools, destroy little Johny's future. The kids being manipulated along with some stupid parents go out and protest, etc.
Its a cycle, all so the administration can have catered breakfast meetings every Friday, an maintain a number of lavishly paid redundant positions in administration. Cause its a freaken crime if you can't have the house on the beach and the newest E350, 5 series or Lexus, screw the kids.
Bad principle that any private company would fire so fast his head would be spinning? No problem, 30% salary increase, with a BS position down city hall, also he needs a secretary.
