I do not know what a ' bils' is..
but most shocks have an end with two flats on it..
so either a wrench of the right size.. or vise grips..squeezed there.... and then use an open ended wrench to get them off... a pain compared to being able to use a deep socket..but sometimes this happens... same problem sometimes with getting a tie rod end off....
