Ah ha perhaps you can explain why Dutch plumbing systems contain the strangest combination of metric and imperial connectors I've ever seen - more so than the English which is more or less metric now, and why when a baby is born in the Netherlands the weight is recorded in pounds and not kilograms?

(Please note: a Dutch pound is exactly equal to half a kilogram just to make things even more confusing)
